Basic Needs

KCS provides basic needs relief and assistance with essentials, such as food, clothing, and shelter referrals. 

Our team of Certified Enrollment Counselors are available to provide in-person counseling and assistance to consumers in need of help with applying for various programs. 

Social Security Assistance (SSA)

SSA is an earnings-based program which provides a source of income to those who are retired or disabled.  

Supplemental Security Income (SSI) 

SSI is a needs-based program that provides payments to people with limited income and resources who are age 65 or older, blind, or disabled. 

CalFRESH 

Cal Fresh is a public assistance program, sometimes referred to as SNAP, designed to help households buy healthy foods. Benefits are issued on an EBT card that works like a debit card and can be used at most grocery stores, many farmers markets to purchase food, or most anywhere displaying an “EBT Accepted Here” sign.  

CalWORKS 

CalWORKs is a public assistance program providing cash benefits for those in need of childcare when one or both parents are absent, disabled, deceased or unemployed. 

Cash Assistance Program for Immigrants (CAPI) 

CAPI is a public assistance program designed to provide monthly cash benefits to aged, blind, and disabled non-citizens who are ineligible for SSI/SSP solely due to their immigrant status. 

In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) 

IHSS is a public assistance program that helps pay for housecleaning, meal preparation, laundry, grocery shopping, personal care services, accompaniment to medical appointments, and protective supervision for the mentally impaired and people over 65 years of age, disabled, or blind. 

General Relief (GR) 

GR is a cash assistance program that provides temporary cash aid to eligible indigent adult lawful residents who do not have custody of any minor children and do not qualify for Federal or State funded cash aid programs. 

Food Pantry

KCS delivers fresh produce to community members in need. Additionally, we operate a food pantry on the first Friday of every month and provide resources to food pantries open on other days of the week.
